Q: How safe is ordering over the Internet?
A: Much safer than most people realize. Because of advanced encryption technologies, it is nearly impossible to intercept credit card numbers while being transmitted. Where hackers and criminals have gained unauthorized, however, is on sites that store customer information on their Website. From The Heart Candle Company DOES NOT store credit card and personal information in an online database. Also, we've implemented numerous security procedures on our website to insure a safe shopping experience for you.

Q: Do you use lead wicks in your candles?
A: No.  We use zinc wicks, which are completely safe and help your candle burn longer and more evenly.  Here is more information on lead wicks and the hazard they pose:

Q. How can I remove spilled wax from fabric?
A. Scrape as much of the hardened wax off the surface as possible.  Place a clean rag over the remaining spill.  Place a warm (not hot) iron on the towel. This will heat the wax and the towel will absorb it. Repeat this process using only clean parts of the rag. Use warm, soapy water to clean up any remaining residue.

Q: What causes my candle to "smoke" every time I light it?
A: Trim the wicks to ¼ inch every time you burn the candle.  This is true for all types of candle. Also, make sure that there is no debris in the wax pool.  Many candles may smoke the first time they are lit.

Q: Will scented candles get rid of smoke and pet odors?
A: Scented candles provide a great temporary solution to these problems.  Place candles throughout the room and burn them often.  The stronger the fragrance the better!
